Almost all brokerages emphasis you, you, you, market yourself, your business, you being a independent contractor, building your business, etc. Also, these companies train you to duplicate what they themselves have been trained to say and do, simply put they are out of touch, out of date, and just plain don't work.
Also many brokerages try to offer a one-stop shop for everything real estate and if you have done real estate any amount of time, it's not hard to see that each facet of real estate is a full time job unto itself.
Part Time Realtors Unfortunately many realtors have no choice but to resort to doing real estate part time and taking on a full time position doing something very different. In my opinion, this is not the fault of the agent; it is the fault of the broker and the short sighted and greedy side of the business that does not allow them to have contingency plans in place to keep their agents working. Spending a little more money, retooling and researching what works and what doesn't is key but sometimes it seems they are so high and out of touch that they may not even realize it until its too late.
Do you believe it is fair or even ethical for a prospective client to place their home or home buying effort in the hands who does real estate only some times, part time because they have a real job doing something else? Could this part time licensee really do their best for this client in a part time position. We believe that good solid full time real estate is the only option to fully service a client, that's the position we want you to be in and you can and will with us. Lastly, our industry is changing almost on a daily biases and while our market is rapidly being given away by legislation and the big banks and others who are trying to take over, our work is more difficult than ever.
